I remember the days when I used to go to play-school, and I remember when we were given small bottles of milk with a straw and a biscuit to eat.
Those were the days. . .
I’m sure they helped us to grow, bone and flesh, mind and marrow, in the early days of our lives.
Then, as I grew, and teenage years arrived, milk was substituted for alcohol and biscuits for pie & chips, which I am certain have done nothing for my growth, “O!” except maybe around the waist!. . .
It’s amusing to reflect on those early years, to remember how taste buds were tested and jaw muscles exercised to see which flavours would last into adult hood. . .
Now I’m older!. . .
It’s a bit like life!. . .
I’m certain that my taste buds have tasted all that life has to offer, I’m certain that a lot of my tasting hasn’t been good for me, leaving either a bitter taste or leaving me feeling hungry, even though I have gorged myself. . .
When we were children we ate like children, consuming milk. As we grow older our bodies crave for meals with more substance. . .
The real question is, as adults are we still only drinking milk, eating like children and thinking and behaving like infants!. . .or have we moved on, have we grown up and now have taste buds that want solid food of substance, food that will feed the mind and grow the soul!. . .
To truly eat and be satisfied we must turn to JESUS, you see, HE has given us the ‘word’ the bible, that should we choose to read it, to consume its content to eat every word, we will certainly become full, we will be internally satisfied . . .and we will grow into the men and women that our GOD, predestined us to be. . .
And the most exquisite part is this. . .JESUS gives us things to eat that are good for us, we don’t have to count the calories, or check for ‘E’ numbers!. . .and we can constantly gorge ourselves with out stretching the waste line. . .
. . .It is time to check our weight!, it is time to stand on the scales. . .and see!. . .
Are we still children, reliant on milk, with immature taste buds!. . .
Or have we learnt to eat solid foods, and grow. . .knowing who we are!. . .& knowing we are on our way to reaching our full potential!. . .
. . .lets eat!. . .
