OLDER!. . .
I’m sat in a little cafe, it’s quaint in its size and distinct in its delicacies.
I’m sat observing the sauce bottles that sit before me, they are the squeezy type, no frills, they do exactly what they are designed to do but no more.
It’s funny how over the years different trends and different cultures have determined how our sauces are presented to us.
We have the kind that I am looking at and then we have the type that come in the nice glass dispensers with a plunge mechanism, or the tear strip little sachets.
Change. . .
I’m older now, and although I have in the past flexed, with the varying trends from what I was to wear to look cool, or where I must go, to be seen to be in with the in crowd. . .I’m now older!. . .
You see life isn’t about how old we are or how young we are it’s about the quality of our lives. . .
Imagine for a moment. . .
Someone comes and stands beside you, right now, and thrusts a barometer in the ground.
They declare that they want to measure the atmospheric pressure of your life!. . .
What would the reading be!. . .
Would it be a reading showing constant storms, where you were only able to take refuge and service only your own needs!. . .
Would it be a reading of: sunny with out breaks of rain, allowing you to scrape together a living in the sunny periods of your life only to squander them pointlessly on triviality!. . .I wonder. . .
You see when I was younger I couldn’t even see the barometer!. Blinded by the persistent rain of life and un accustomed to life’s
seasonal change I blended with the world, taking on its customs, it’s indulgences and at times it’s despair.
Now I am older. . .
A mate of mine asked me if I was as old as Moses!. . .I’m not!. . .
But if I could only achieve a 10th of what he achieved during his life time then I would be extremely happy. . .
Moses, had previously left all the trappings of the world and living a quiet life seemed to have settled for what some would say was a mediocre life.
Then Moses responded to the call of GOD. . .
And as Moses listened intently, GOD, explained how HE was about to turn Moses’s life into a life of meaning, adventure & power.
My life’s now like that!. . .I have no sheep and at this moment in time I haven’t led thousands out of the wilderness!. . .
But my life is now one big adventure, since responding to the call of GOD, as every Christian has, life is mesmerising. The people I have met the challenges I have faced and the future that lies before me. . .and all because of JESUS. . .
The world is now my oyster, since I have found the pearl of great price. Now I can dare to be excited about life and seriously focused about the future!. . .
Yes I am older. . .but I have never been more ‘alive’. . .
