Today has been an interesting day! It began in the usual manner, the shill tone of the alarm clock, and the sun’s dim glow from behind drawn curtains, indicated that a new day had begun.
But as I placed the dental floss between my protruding teeth, something felt slightly odd! Something I couldn’t explain had stirred the excitement gene, generating a power surge behind the mechanics of my thoughts and it was peculiarly nauseating!
With the chores completed I ventured into the nearby city to purchase shoes. You see, winter is fast approaching and my cholesterol-lined arteries now require assistance to heat my feet in the coldest of weather.
Im sat consuming a coffee and a little piece of chocolate in a busy deli-eatery. The chocolate I am consuming is an easter egg reduced to half-price by a shop who’s marketing strategy failed to maximise revenue from the crucifixion.
There is a young boy, no older than 6 years of age sat at a table close to where I am located. He is sat with his father and is striving to engage him in child like activity, in a historical game derived from the nursery rhyme ‘pat-a-cake’. He is persistently wrestling with the clasped hands of his father trying to pry them apart for play.
I’m sat consuming another of my favourite tipples, Americano coffee with semi skimmed milk. . .frothed.
I’m on my first cup of the day and its aroma is evocative.
Todays coffee time is a welcome break from the rigmarole of life, from the hard graft that I undertake each day to make a living, its a welcome break from those who constantly drain the liquid from my flesh’s mental reservoir.
